Rebounding to Personal Fitness
Rebounding involves miniature trampolines that can be used in many interesting ways to help you get into shape. Rebounders are the miniature trampolines used for rebounding and if you have worked out on a rebounder before then you know that you can get an amazing workout with a personalized rebounder in your home.
Rebounders are great for a variety of different workouts. Many people love rebounding and trampolining for the freeing motion that it allows while they get a good aerobic exercise and strengthen their cardiovascular system.
Rebounding as well as trampolining, offers a great cardiovascular workout because the body is kept in constant motion without ever breaking the aerobic threshold. If you already have a home workout routine you can use a rebounder between sets to keep your heart rate up and get your lymphatic system going as well.
There are many people who absolutely love rebounding because of the energizing effect it provides them through cleansing their lymphatic system. This can help your body remove toxins that would otherwise be stuck in your body attracting infected tissue.
There are lots of exercises that you can do on your rebounder besides simply jumping up and down. In fact, some of the best exercises involve other movements than jumping altogether.
One of the first exercises that you should learn how to do if you are going to be working out on a rebounder is called the health bounce. This exercise involves bouncing on the rebounder’s pad without ever actually bouncing high enough so that your feet leave its surface.
If you are performing the health bounce correctly you should be able to achieve a high number of bounces in one minute, possibly somewhere approaching 60 but less is ok too. The bounces should also be vigorous enough that your body experiences something close to 3 g’s.
This is an important concept to understand even if you can’t measure it exactly. The g number refers to the amount of relative gravitational force that your body is experiencing.
Therefor 3 g’s would mean that your body was experiencing a force equal to the force of gravity multiplied by three. Basically, this is the heavy feeling that you feel at the lowest point in your bounce on a rebounder when your body feels heaviest.
If you are doing the health bounce right you will have a large number or solid bounces that will provide this force. Jumping will also produce this effect but will cause you to have much fewer bounces and thereby a minimized effect.
